Minimally Invasive Dentistry

Minimally Invasive/Conservative Dentistry:

There is nothing better for your smile than healthy, natural tooth structure. Keeping as much natural tooth structure in tact as possible allows the teeth to stay stronger and last longer. In many cases restorative materials are required to repair and correct dental issues... but nothing can truly replace what Mother Nature provided you with. It is with this fact in mind that Dr. Kerbs is dedicated to providing Conservative Dentistry.

Conservative dentistry involves careful treatment planning to ensure that we can preserve as much of your natural, healthy tooth structure as possible. Meaning that if we can restore your tooth to health by placing a tooth colored filling or a partial crown - both allowing us to remove less tooth structure than a full coverage crown - then that is what we will do. Not only will this help the tooth stay stronger, the more often we can keep the finish lines of a restoration from being be placed under the gums, the healthier your gums will be.

Dr. Kerbs is able to provide this type of service through his advanced training and by using state-of-the-art porcelain restorations, rather than the traditional porcelain fused to metal type. In the event that a full coverage crown is required, we will place one... but only if it is absolutely necessary, and even then it will be prepared in the most conservative manner possible.

Dr. Kerbs believes that conservative dentistry is what will provide his patients with the healthiest, longest lasting smiles possible. We base all of our treatments on what is best for maintaining as much of your healthy tooth structure as possible, since unlike sharks you only get one set of teeth to last you a life time!

Our minimally invasive dentistry patients come to us from Encinitas, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo, San Diego and San Marcos.
